Best Optifine Settings to Boost Minecraft FPS [1.18.2]

OptiFine is a Minecraft mod that enhances the game’s performance. Support for high-definition textures and several tuning options make Minecraft run quicker and look better.

How to Install Optifine

You may get Optifine by going to their official website and clicking the “download” button. Determine which version of the game you prefer and download it from there. Follow the Optifine installation instructions provided in our guide after downloading it. Ensure you have the most recent Java runtime environment installed on your computer before downloading Optifine.

Best Optifine Settings for FPS Boost

Run Optifine by selecting it from the version drop-down option in your launcher. Once the game has been launched, go to the options menu and select video settings to optimize it for the highest possible frame rate. 

Step-by-step instructions for applying the best Optifine Settings for Minecraft’s FPS Boost:

Graphics: (Fast recommended)

  • Fabulous: Translucent blocks get better quality, but it slows down the game.

  • Fast: The game’s overall quality is reduced, but the overall performance and fps are increased.

Smooth Lighting (Off recommended)

Off Smoothing: is turned off to speed up gameplay.

  • Minimum: At the very least, the game should have a simple lighting system that balances both quality and frame rate.
  • Maximum: Complex lighting that slows down the overall gameplay.

Dynamic Lighting (Off recommended)

A luminant objection can be illuminated simply by holding it in one’s palm.

  • OFF: No moving lights.
  • Fast: Dynamic lighting with a 500ms response time is here.
  • Fancy: 0 ms latency real-time dynamic lighting.

Shaders (Off recommended)

Disable your shaders. Shaders in Minecraft are the most resource-consuming ones. So if you want more fps, you can disable them. However, enabling shaders and other optifine options for fps boost can make your game sluggish.

Quality

 One of the most crucial optifine settings for fps. All of these Optifine parameters should be turned off to improve FPS:

  • Enables Smoothing of blocks for a more realistic appearance.
  • Mipmap Level: This form of Mipmap allows you to alter the distance of the Mipmap.
  • Mipmap type: It is best to turn off the anisotropic filtering feature when utilizing Mipmapping.
  • Sharpened colors and jagged lines can be masked with antialiasing (OFF preferred).
  • Textures that dissipate heat (OFF recommended)
  • Improved turf (OFF recommended)
  • Fonts that can be customized (OFF recommended)
  • Textures that are linked together (OFF recommended)
  • A unique view of the sky (OFF recommended)
  • Models of individual entities made to order (OFF recommended)
  • Unpredictable Groups of People (OFF recommended)
  • Better snow is in order (OFF recommended)
  • Custom hues (OFF recommended)
  • Textures derived from the natural world (OFF recommended)
  • Items that Are Particularly Created (OFF recommended)
  • Customizable user interfaces (OFF recommended)

In addition, it’s critical for Optifine settings to increase framerate.

  • Clouds (OFF is preferred)
    • Fast: Allows for 2D clouds.
    • Fancy: Allows for 3D clouds.
  • The trees (Fast recommended)
    • Fastest: Lowest quality, quickest.
    • Fancy: Best quality, Slowest
    • Smart: Strikes a balance between fast and fancy.

  • A-listers (OFF recommended)
  • Capes on display (Optional)
  • Fog starts (0.2 recommended): If you have already turned off the fog, this will not affect performance.
  • Item in possession Helpful Hints (OFF recommended)
  • Colors associated with swamps (OFF recommended)
  • Blocks that are different (OFF recommended)
  • Blend of Biomes (OFF recommended)
  • Animations (Off recommended)

In this sub-menu, you may toggle 17 in-game animations: water, fire, Redstone flames, void particle splashes, rain splashes, chunk particles, terrain textures, lava portals, explosions, smoke water/lava, and item animations.

Aside from that, you may vary the particle density from “All” to “Decreased” to “Off” to alter how many particles from the various animations appear on-screen. By tapping the bottom two buttons, you can also turn off all settings.

Performance

All of the settings in this sub-menu are geared toward FPS, rendering, and chunk update.

To get the highest possible frame rate while you’re there, use the following options.

  • Render Regions (ON recommended)
  • Smart Animation (ON recommended)
  • Smooth FPS (ON recommended)
  • Chunk Update (1 recommended) i
  • Loading Chunk Lazy (ON recommended)
  • Fast Render: Enable it if your CPU is really powerful.
  • Fast Math: Enable it if your CPU is exceptionally powerful.
  • The world is smooth (ON recommended)
  • Dynamic Updates (ON recommended)

Others

You won’t see an increase in your frame rate, but you’ll be able to regulate FPS drops better.

  • Lagometer is a type of meter that measures the (OFF recommended)
  • Show FPS (ON): Turn it on to check your FPS in real-time without having to click F3 repeatedly.
  • The weather (OFF recommended)
  • Fullscreen (ON): Running your game in fullscreen will raise your FPS. This is because your CPU/GPU will put more burden on your game rather than competing with other background activities.
  • Screenshot size (retain the default): Large screenshots will consume more memory.
  • Profiler for Debugging (OFF recommended)
  • Tooltips for Advanced Users (OFF recommended)
  • Time (Default recommended)
  • Save automatically (6mins recommended)
  • Display GL errors (Optional)

These are the optimal optifine settings for fps enhancement. If you need higher FPS, you may have to sacrifice game quality, but we all know that gaming performance is more important than quality. Use these optimized settings to improve your frame rate and reduce lag.
